Baby Lovin'

This weekend I helped to host a baby shower for my very good friend Eliana who is due in a couple weeks! Which still is so crazy to me, and so so exciting!

I knew I had to make her the adorable baby cardigans I have been seeing everywhere online. They are too adorable and I love attempting to make new things (So anyone who is having a baby soon, get a hold of me ;) you know you want one) I bought both onesies from Old Navy and just cut the onesie down the middle and added the knit trim around the edge. Of course you can't have an adorable onesie cardigan without an adorable bowtie to complete it!

It was a ton of fun being able to host her baby shower and it turned out so great! Baby Kole is going to look so fashionable in all his new clothes that he got, and Eliana is going to be an amazing mother!

Seersuckers

I made myself a seersucker dress about a month ago for a wedding my husband and I were going to. It's perfect for the summer, seersucker is so lightweight and comfortable! Now my best friend is going on a mission for our church to Jacksonville, Florida. She's going to need lots and lots of skirts, and asked if I could make her one, and of course I did! I chose to make it out of seersucker for her hot walks all over Southern Georgia and Jacksonville. It turned out great and she looks amazing in it!
Emily did an amazing job picking out her outfit to go with the skirt I made. She chose a polka dot top to mix with the pattern of the seersucker stripes, and a red belt with red heels to add color to the whole ensemble. Beautiful, perfect amount of color and mixing patterns!
Look how adorable she is. She is going to be such an amazing missionary!
This was so perfect, the dress and skirt I made was seersucker and her brother wore his seersucker suit that day, which was not planned!

Lately In Ohio..

It has been forever since I've updated this and I thought it was about time! These are just a couple of pieces that I've been working on since I've come to Ohio and I'm so grateful that I brought my sewing machine here with me because it gives me something to do when I'm not working or just sitting around all day.

First off I have been in love with all these tulle skirts I've been seeing all over and I just knew I needed one, so I attempted to just make one for myself. I found this really awesome neon fabric at JoAnns and thought I could just layer it with tulle. I liked how it turned out but it wasn't exactly how I had imagined and didn't have nearly enough tulle. I really think you need just layers and layers of tulle to get that great full princess skirt effect. I am determined to get it right next time!

What I made:

I love collars right now, especially beaded/embellished ones! I used some scrap fabric from the neon skirt to make this simple boxy top with a beaded collar! There's something about hand beading things that is so calm and relaxing to me. I could bead everything I make!

What I made:

Here's just a simple see through skirt that you can throw on top of any other skirt, it just gives whatever you're wearing extra texture and color. This was really easy to make and just uses an elastic waistband

What I made:

& of course peplums, which of course I'm in love with and I have been dying to buy a dress or top but knew that this would be so simple to make and I finally did! Hopefully they stay in style for a little big longer so that it payed off to make it!

What I made:

I really do miss taking classes right now and having dress forms available to me! I just love creating new things and coming up with new projects :) Hopefully I will have more to show in the near future!

Cable Knit

This is the latest thing i've been working on and I cannot wait until it's complete. I love everything cable and will hopefully make an infinity scarf out of this. It's definitely tricky trying to keep track of what row you knit but I love how it's turning out! This is just a preview but I'll take some more pictures once it's completed :)
